Welcome to Saylors

We at Saylor’s Restaurant and Bar are inspired by the lifestyle and cuisine of Cabo, a vacation destination at the Southern tip of the Baja California peninsula known for its relaxed and cultivated atmosphere/ambiance. We fell in love with Cabo and want to share our passion for all things Cabo by offering a unique opportunity for diners to experience fresh and sophisticated Cabo-inspired cuisine in a festive and relaxed atmosphere.

Creative Chef Sean Saylor uses the freshest local ingredients and seafood to create a distinctive menu of dishes that reflect the combination of California and Mexican cuisine found in Cabo. Ceviche, Carnitas and Cabo Prawns are a few items you will find on our menu.  Sean's approach is to slow-cook foods to bring out the best of their natural flavors. Our festive full bar offers fresh house-made margaritas with over 210 tequilas to choose from.  We offer a dog-friendly patio and a private banquet room for up to 50 guests.

When you walk into Saylor’s, you will feel like you are walking off the beach in Cabo and into a local's place. As you enter our casually-refined restaurant our smiling employees will welcome you, and the colors of Cabo will brighten your day. Our service, ambiance and carefully prepare authentic Cabo-inspired food will make you feel like you’ve truly escaped to paradise.

You Catch It. We'll Cook It.

After a successful fishing trip, you may be so worn out that cooking dinner is the last thing you want to do, or it could just be that you are staying somewhere without cooking facilities — whatever the reason, you still want to eat your catch while it is fresh. We'll cook your catch for you while you relax, have a drink and recount the day's events.

Bring in your catch and choose one of the following preparations.

  • Ceviche
  • Blackened
  • Grilled
  • Broiled
  • Sushi
  • Baked
  • Boulibasse
  • En papilotte

Depending on the type of fish, you name it and we can prepare it to suit your tastes. Your freshly cooked catch is served on platters with a sauce of your choice and accompanied by salad, your choice of potatoes, rice, or French fries and the vegetable of the day. French bread or fresh chips and salsa will also be served. Cost is $13.95 per person for up to one pound of fish (and that's a LOT of fish!), and if you have more than one pound, it is $4.00 per pound per preparation. You worked hard for that catch, and we relish the chance to make it tasty for you.

Sean and Sonja Saylor

Our Story - Sean and Sonja Saylor, owners

Saylor's is a family affair.  We have been in Marin for decades, first with Saylor's Landing and now with Saylor's Restaurant & Bar.

Award-winning chef Sean Saylor's flare for combining traditional Bay Area favorites with an international twist has made the family restaurants the types of places that locals choose to gather and savvy travelers go off the beaten path to find.  Sean knew he wanted to be a chef from an early age. Following his dream, he graduated at the top of his class from California Culinary Academy in 1997 and continued to master his skills in some of Marin's finest kitchens.  Never satisfied, Sean craved his own space where he and Sonja could create their own unique style.  His kitchen is a reflection of Sean's personality, combining food and atmosphere to offer guests a one of a kind dining experience.
